Hello EX-Distributors of Mac Tools
I am starting this blog because I am having a hard time getting information of the Class Action Lawsuit against Mac Tools. If you have any information let me know. I am also getting constant calls from a repo guy that wants to pick up the tool truck. Anyone else getting that out there? Let me know.

  1. Hello everyone,

I am also an ex-distributor and the last email I received from the paralegal did not give me much hope of this case going anywhere. Thanks for starting this blog

  2. There are many off us out there that got a raw deal from Mac. I hope to see many more posts here in the future. A free Google mail account is all it takes! Click the select profile drop down below the "post a comment" and choose the google mail account ... your good to go!

  3. The old case may be stagnant however you may have other options.

If you are a current, or recently terminated Mac distributor ask yourself:

    1) Have you found that the customer credit that MAC TOOLS said they would provide is just not there?
    2) Do you feel the income potential of your route was misrepresented to you?
    3) Do you believe you were given false income information about your route?
4)Was your “List of Calls” inflated and did it include customers that do not buy tools such as helpers, prep guys etc.
    5) Did you have problems with fulfillment of product / back-orders?
    6) Did your DM (if you could keep one in your area) care more about selling you tools than he cared about helping you sell tools?
    7) Were your "discovery rides" with distributors "hand picked" by the DM?
    8) Was the "opportunity" represented to you falsely in any other way ....

Post your comments and come back often for updates.

  4. I have learned that a suit has been filed by the wife of a former Mac tool dealer. The suit is for all the losses she incurred when her husband’s business failed. It was filed by Jerry Marks, Marks & Klein LLP.

Wives in similar situations may want to form a group to take collective action against Mac.

  6. More Mac Tools Lawsuit News...

December 2011 (1) -- Marks & Klein LLP, Attorney Jerry Marks, wants to speak with current or former Mac Tools distributors who were active at anytime during the approximate period of January 1, 2005 to the present. I am a former distributor. I spoke with him. I like what he has to say. If you were part of the disbanded MTLG Lawsuit you may want to give Marks & Klein a call.

December 2011 (2) -- A lawsuit was filed Friday December 23, 2011 in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. The lawsuit was filed by Marks & Klein on behalf of a Mac Tools distributor in Minnesota. The lawsuit alleges that while the business opportunity is marketed by Mac Tools as a “distributorship,” it meets the state and federal legal definitions of a “franchise.” In selling a franchise without providing the information, disclosures and review time required in the sale of a franchise, the suit contends that Mac Tools violated Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Rule 436. (Case 3:11-cv-01997 Walter v. Mac Tools, Inc.).
